Cross State Record Holder | RAAM Qualifier | Silver State 508 Finisher
I’m always looking for a new adventure! I love being challenged both in cycling and in life. I started biking in 2011 just to get in shape and quickly got addicted. I kept wondering how far I could ride if I just kept going and I’m still trying to figure that out.
I’m currently on a mission to set a record biking across every state. So far I’ve set records across Iowa (280 miles in 19 hours 24 minutes), Wisconsin (380 miles in 22 hours 4 minutes) and Illinois (427 miles in 25 hours and 20 minutes). Next up: Michigan South to North in 2017! If I do one state each year, I should have them all by the time I’m 72 years old! I have also competed in lots of road and gravel ultracycling events ranging from 200 to 500+ miles, recently becoming the first and only woman to finish the unsupported division of the Silver State 508. Through these adventures, I hope to inspire people to push the limits on what they can achieve and promote the sport of ultracycling!
I want to be a part of something bigger than myself so I am looking for support from companies/businesses/organizations in terms of gear/money/time sponsorship. Please contact me if you want to be a part of my adventure! To support my adventures, I am interested in getting involved in the cycling world through testing gear, public speaking, modeling cycling clothes, etc. If you know of any opportunities, feel free to contact me using the form below.
When I jumped into the ultracycling world, I noticed that it was difficult to find information about the sport. There are a few articles and books out there but ultracycling is very complex so sharing more information can help people take on some of the challenges that come along with the sport. I hope to use this blog to provide entertaining and informative posts to connect people and promote the sport of ultracycling. I also hope to gain information from other more experienced ultracyclists to increase my own knowledge of the sport.
After completing my masters degrees in Agricultural Engineering and Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University in 2015, I spent a year living in a tiny house, getting involved with organic farming, and traveling around the country. After that, I moved to Dubuque, IA and decided to commit to ultracycling, blogging and other adventures! I’m excited to see where these adventures lead!
